When the Bai Dinh pagoda
festival finish, Thai Vi Temple Festival takes place on
14th to March 16th lunar to tribute the merits of the
Tran. Thai Vi Temple was built in 1285 by Tran Thai Tong
King. So this is the area to worship the first king of
the Tran: as Tran Thai Tong, Tran Thanh Tong, Tran Nhan
Tong, Tran Anh Tong, the Minister Tran Hung Dao, Tran
Quang Khai and Thuan Thien Queen.
Thai vi temple is spiritual spot for many to come to
commemorate merits and contributions of generations of
kings Tran. Temples was constructed right in the ground
where King Tran Thai Tong chose to build ancient
imperial palace Thai Vi. In front of the temple is Ngoc
Well (Pearl Well) which was built from green stone. In
the middle of temple yard is 2-storey bell-tower, with
eight-roof of tile, 8 corners of the bell-tower roof
bend like the tail of phoenix. The bell inside was
casted in 1689.
Thai Vi Temple Festival includes the Kago and Sacrifice
festival. Celebration of the procession led by the a
drum carried by two people and a person wear a robes and
one persons wear a hat of the barn swallows, next 5
persons with 5 flags of the five elements, and next
there is a Kago with eight tables to put articles of the
Tran King, the Queen or Princess of the Tran and floral
notes
On the morning of 14 -3, the Kago coming from all the
roads in the district, in the province of Thai Vi temple
in jubilant atmosphere of the festival. The Kago will be
gilded splendidly by the young is dressed by the
customary ancient festival.
Sacrifice festival is important ceremonies, organized in
front of the temple. the organizing committee consits of
15 to 20 people including funeral oration boss, one
person read funeral oration, 2 persons initiated funeral
oration and each side has from 5 to 10 persons to
perform the the incense, the wine dedication. He read
the funeral oration to praised the merit of King Tran
Thai Tong which is presented through the performing
arts.
Entertainment: traditional games such as: lion dance,
dragon dance, playing chess, wrestling, rowingArriving
to Thai Vi festival, visitors have the opportunity to
visit landscapes of Ninh Binh. They are Thai Vi temple,
Bich Cave, Tien cave, Xuyen Thuy Cave.
